CAE: State of Culture Barometer Survey | Deadline 18 May 2024

The research project State of Culture aims to capture the status of cultural policies and the opinions of artists, cultural workers or organisations in a short questionnaire. It takes an estimated 15 minutes, declares Culture Action Europe, and collects information on the importance and future management of conflicts such as climate change, inclusion or migration in the cultural sector.

Initiated by Culture Action Europe, the survey will show in a comprehensive snapshot what the status quo of cultural policies in Europe looks like, focusing especially but not singularly on EU member countries. The resulting report is planned to be published in autumn this year.

What are the prioritized fields of action in your institution and have these priorities shifted or are they likely to do so in the next few years? How would you describe the current role of culture? And in what way can we promote culture and heighten its value in society and on political agendas? Questions like these comprise the survey, of which most can be answered in clickable multiple-choice responses.

State of Culture glances back at the measurements taken in the past and aims to determine new sectors of advocacy. This also serves as a guideline for citizens to evaluate the candidates of the upcoming important elections on national level and in the EU, especially the EU parliament. The resulting study should solidify and unify the interests of the many diverging cultural and creative sectors (CCSs) and thus lend more strength to their point of view in the political debate.

Do you want to contribute to the findings of the barometer with your thoughts and knowledge? Take the time to fill out the brief survey here
