DCI webinar: Artist-activists and Participatory Methods for Social Resilience | 9 April 2024

On 9 April, from 9.00 to 11.00 CET, the Danish Cultural Institute is hosting a webinar in cooperation with its partners in the BSR Cultural Pearls Project on the role of artist-activists in building social resilience through participatory methods.

The free public webinar by the Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is led by artist, curator and cultural researcher Agnieszka Wolodzko (Gdańsk, Poland) and architect and urban planner Roman Sebastyański (Gdynia, Poland). The event is open to everyone with the main target audience being municipalities, professionals from the culture and creative sector, NGO’s and researchers.

The webinar will focus on practical benefits of extending public participation and dialogue in the processes of collecting ideas and implementing decisions of how to overcome and solve common problems. The important role of artists-activists in building such communal capacities by empowering and enabling people to take responsibility for their common well-being will be highlighted. Gaining such capacities, would substantially increase social resilience to overcome actual and future crisis situations.
