European Capitals of Culture 2011: Turku and Tallinn

Tallinn and Turku have started into their year of being European Capital of Culture 2011. While the opening ceremony of Tallinn 2011 was held on New Year's Eve with a major public concert gathering thousand of people taking place on the Theatre Square, Turku opened its festivities on 15 January. The opening show held by the Aura River and featuring breathtaking aerial performances and fire sculptures was one of the biggest cultural events ever to be seen in Finland.

Throughout the year there will be cultural events of all kind in the whole city of Turku and Tallinn. Whether you would like to visit an art exhibition, watch a visual art performance or join a concert, you can have it all!
