Conference "Culture in/and Crisis" (Belgium)

17.04.2011 | Call for papers: Submit your application until 30 April for this cultural meeting from 27 to 28 October 2011 taking place at Lessius University College in Antwerp!

The University Network of the European Capitals of Culture (UNeECC) welcomes you to its fifth annual conference under the topic "Culture in/and crisis?" in Belgium.

You are invited to submit a paper or a presentation dealing either with the topic "Culture in/and Crisis?" or with "European Capitals of Culture in/and Crisis?".

Applicants should come from universities and other institutions of higher education that are located in cities which are, have been, or will be designated European Capitals of Culture. Individual scholars who take a particular interest in European Capitals of Culture as well as local administrators and cultural managers involved in the European Capitals of Culture programme are also welcome to submit their proposal.

The participants are invited to bring along copies of their presentations or a substantial abstract which should be informative and clear about the aims of research and the discussion of results. Overhead projection and Power Point facilities will be available. The time allotted to each presentation will be 15 minutes with an extra 5 minutes for questions and answers.

A selection of the winning papers will be published later on in the so-called "UNeECC Forum" which is the UNeECC’s recently created academic review.

Please mark that the conference will be held in English.

The registration fee for taking part at the conference is 120 Euro, for PhD students it is 90 Euro.

Application deadline is 30 April 2011.

Baltic Comic Exhibition

ARS BALTICA presents an exhibition of comics created during the ARS BALTICA accredited Baltic Comic workshop. The exhibition which will take place within the event "Langer Tag der Kultur" can be seen in Rendsburg on 1 June 2013.
