European Cultural Foundation - Democracy Needs Imagination, Call for Applications

16.09.2019 |

Democracy needs imagination, especially in times of growing nationalism, isolation and separatism. Equal rights are under attack as well as the civil liberties to voice cultural or personal stories and opinions. The European Cultural Foundation is therefore looking for ideas and projects that will work for European democratic values.

The applications can come from individuals or organisations. Their work might be based on the local, national or transnational level and can be in the fields of arts and culture, media/journalism, citizen actions, education, digital and even across a range of different sectors. The project must be striving towards stronger unity in Europe. Projects whose focus is only artistic or only educational do not match this criterium.

Applicants need to be above 18 years old. Grants are available in three amounts: small €5.000 – 15.000, medium €15.000 – 30.000 and large €30.000 – 50.000. The grants can fund various projects from start-up funding co-funding or filling a budget gap. Staff costs, material and travel costs can be covered. The call is ongoing and the final date for applications is September 27th, 12:00 CEST.
