Once again the Film Festival Schleswig-Holstein will provide a window to Germany’s northernmost country. The Festival will take place from May 9thto May 11thin Schleswig Holstein’s capital Kiel.
In the festival’s competition films related to Schleswig-Holstein will be screened. The competition will feature fiction films as well as animation, experimental, transmedia productions, and documentaries. All the festival’s films will be screened at Kommunale Kino Kiel (Koki) at event location Pumpe. Overall, visitor’s can look forward to 24 short and long films, ‘many of them first-class documentaries, that premiered at the leading film festivals world wide’, says festival organizer Arne Sommer.
For the first time in its 23-year-history, the festival will feature a University-Day, where Universities and Polytechnics of Schleswig-Holstein will present their filmic works. For everyone who can’t wait until May 9th, for the first time as well, the festival will introduce a pre-festival programme at various cinemas across Kiel. There you can watch classics, premieres and a short film programme with films all related to Schleswig-Holstein.
The festival itselfwill kick off in May 9that cinema Pumpe in the city of Kiel.
