Nordic-Baltic Arts Festival Conference 2019, 7-8 November

How to make your festival better – that is the theme of the upcoming annual conference of the Nordic Baltic Festival Platform. The conference will take place in Liepāja (Latvia) from November 7th and 8th and will present and debate the latest developments on how to involve your audience.

The conference will focus on two topics: The first day’s motto will be “OPEN UP!” and deal with approaches on how to create and inclusive festival. The second day will be all about on how to “LEVEL UP!” and how to make your festival exclusive.

The Conference will bring together managers and artistic directors of festivals from all fields of art and culture to exchange ideas and best practices, make new connections and explore various possibilities for cooperation, while presenting some great Latvian performances.

The two keynote speeches will be by Jenny Sealey (MBE CEO / Artistic Director of the Graeae Theatre Company, UK), who will present a guide on how to make festivals inclusive. Jonathan Holloway (festival director, chief executive, educator and cultural leader) will talk about on ‘How to find and amplify the unique voice of a Festival’.

The conference will take place at the Liepāja Concert Hall Great Amber (Lielais Dzintars) as well as the Chamber Hall (Kamerzāle). Registration is now open.
