Peer-Learning Scheme on Cultural Heritage for Cities and Regions, European Commission, Deadline September 23rd

29.08.2019 |

A new e-tender by the European Commission is out, looking for applications that will facilitate a Peer-Learning Scheme on Cultural Heritage for Cities and Regions. This is one more step to bring Cultural Heritage and its importance for the citizens in Europe into the spotlight.

Following up on the strategic objectives of the New European Agenda for Culture, adopted by the European Commission in May 2018, the scheme focuses on the power of culture for social cohesion, well-being and on boosting economic growth as well as strengthening international cultural relations.

The goal of this call for applications is to propose a peer-learning scheme for cities and regions on three topics related to cultural heritage policies:

  • Participatory governance of cultural heritage
  • Adaptive reuse of built heritage
  • Quality of interventions on cultural heritage

The project foresees to compile a catalogue of at least 30 good practices from EU cities/regions on these topics. Furthermore, based on this selection, at least 12 peer-learning visits to selected European Union cities/regions shall be organised, bringing 20+ participants per visit.

The call wants to enable flagging most pertinent best practices from EU cities/regions on the abovementioned topics and supporting exchange of experiences via facilitating direct contacts between city, rural, regional and national administrations as well as experts.

In particular, this initiative shall facilitate exchanges among European Union’s cities and regions as well as EU Member States with the aim to visit good practice examples, exchange views and produce documentation of the actions carried out. The action shall also identify selected best practices from across the European Union on the three topics above and disseminate them in an accessible, user-friendly and engaging manner. Find the full e-tender online. Deadline for applications is September 23rd.
