Rigas Ritmi has earned its place as one of the Baltic region’s most beloved music festivals and it returns once again in 2018, starting next Thursday and running all weekend until Saturday 30th June.

Rigas Ritmi was first established in 2001 and is now one of Latvia’s most well attended festivals. Artists from all over the world arrive in Riga to perform alongside new and undiscovered local talent.

More than 500 artists have performed in hundreds of concerts through the festival’s almost 2-decade history and hundreds of thousands of music lovers have enjoyed the benefits. Its wonderful reputation has also been of great benefit to tourism for Riga and Latvia.

Each year the festival hosts the Rigas Ritmi Showcase – a project that promotes Latvia’s creative industry through performances from its most talented jazz, improvisation, and musical artists. The Latvian artists have the opportunity during the showcase to meet visiting foreign artists and exchange experiences through masters workshops and panel discussions. These master-classes, workshops, and seminars are for young musicians and delivered by some of the world’s most renowned masters. You can read more about the master class and workshop programme here

Highlights of this year’s festival include the Alfredo Rodriguez Trio, Shenel Johns and Latvian Radio Big Band, Adam Ben Ezra, Verneri Pohjola Överdriven and many more. You can view the programme online here.

Rigas Ritmi will be held from Wednesday 27th June to Saturday 30th June 2018 at different locations in the city of Riga, Latvia. You can read more about it on the Rigas Ritmi website.
