The Social Service Club, a creative centre based close to Copenhagen, is inviting artists and researchers for a two-week residency to create around the themes of the Social Service Club: Community & Belonging. The residency will take place between August 19th and September 2nd. Apply until August 1st.

The Social Service Club is based at a rural country house, a nature sanctuary outside of Copenhagen. It is a residence for creative research and human development.

The call is open to anyone and from any field. Together the organisers want to investigate questions like: By what means do we seek and find a sense of belonging and social cohesion in our modern, fragmented world? How can we overcome our newfound urge towards individualism and together regain a sense of collective resilience?

Successful applicants will receive a grant that covers all housing, travel and living experiences plus 5000 DKK to facilitate the applicant’s own project or concept. This can take the form of anything related to the theme - philosophical explorations to the design and build of installations, architecture or social interventions.

Deadline for applications is August 1st. The application should include a detailed concept proposal, a portfolio as well a personal motivation.
