14. International filmfestival “Baltic Debuts“

The 14th International Film Festival "Baltic Debuts" will take place from 4 to 8 July 2017 in the town of Svetlogorsk on the Baltic coast, Kaliningrad region.

The festival is supported by the ministries of culture of the Russian Federation and the Kaliningrad region. For 15 years Baltic debuts have taken an important place in the cultural life of the region. Today's cinematographers get a chance to exchange experiences, and the audience can watch films coming from all over the world.

The competition program traditionally presents new works by young directors from ten countries in the Baltic Sea region. This year nine films, partly as co-productions take part in the competition. The jury is directed by the Soviet and Russian director, film author, producer, actor, and appreciated artist Valdimir Grammatikov. The jury also includes Kirill Käro from Estonia, Bernd Buder, who is a member of the European Academy and program director of the film festival in Cottbus, Germany.

Other following programs will be part of the festival as well: "Russian Premieres", "Films for Children", "Animation World" and encounters with famous Russian actors. Special events of the festival are: a theatre performance "Uncle Vanya" from the Academic Maly Theatre - Europa Theater. The concert "Tenors of the 21st Century", the literary one-man performance by the actor Maxim Averin "Everything starts with love ...".

At the closing ceremony the legendary State Academic Moisseev ensemble participates in  in the program "Dances of the World People".
