Innovative initiatives run by civil organisations and/or individuals which intention is to raise awareness of and fight for gender equality in the EU are encouraged to apply.
The aim of the Civil Society Prize in general is to reward and inspire projects and achievements by civil society organisations and/or individuals that have made a significant contribution to promoting European identity and integration. Its goal is highlight the valuable contribution that civil society organisations and/or individuals make on a regular basis to the creation of a European identity and citizenship.
The prize is open to civil society organisations officially registered within the European Union and acting at European, national, regional or local level. It is open to individuals as well. The prize has a total value of 50.000 €. It will be awarded during the EESC plenary session on December 11th-12th. In order to be eligible for the prize initiatives must have already been implemented or be still ongoing. Initiatives which are planned but which have not begun implementation by 6 September 2019, the deadline for submitting applications.
