Call for Projects – Allianz Cultural Foundation, Deadline September 30th

08.08.2019 |

The Allianz Foundation is looking for projects that will strengthen the cohesion of Europe through the tools of art and culture. Selected projects should create spaces, spark a critical debate, lead to an exchange of ideas and promote and facilitate networks across borders.

Thus, the Allianz Cultural Foundation wants to open up spaces and forums that are becoming increasingly hard to find even in the presumably free societies of Europe. Many countries restrict and cut the support of translocal artistic and cultural projects while public debates often show a lack of mutual understanding.

The Allianz Cultural Foundation with this call wants to promote people who have the courage to engage in controversy and express their own opinions. Besides the necessary spaces they need networks in order to establish themselves beyond national borders and across social strata. The call is looking for projects that reflect the fractures in societies, integrate different positions, adopt a translocal approach, demonstrate the courage to shake people up, and surprise and challenge them as a result.

The call is open to all fields of artistic endeavour. Interdisciplinary experimental works are especially encouraged to apply. Submitted projects do not have to address all the aspects highlighted in the call. Since the amount of funding provided by the Allianz Cultural Foundation will generally not exceed 50 % of the total costs of a project, it is recommended to apply for sums of between € 30,000 and a maximum of € 80,000.

Funding is provided for projects that have a high level of artistic and content quality, respond to challenges in society, adopt a translocal and cross-border approach, make Europe tangible through critical engagement and by means of constructive offerings and ideas, develop a concrete impact over the medium and long term and promote social cohesion within society, work across sectors and disciplines and facilitate sustainable networking between involved players and organisations, contribute to proactive knowledge production and transdisciplinary exchange of experiences, think in terms of intersectionality, inclusion and equitable participation and are committed to playing a proactive role in developing this mindset and that are joint ventures between equal partners and empower upcoming young-generation protagonists and non-established players in their field. Deadline for applications is September 30th.
