Over 500 art curators from all over the world will attend this great industry event, run by the International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art (IKT). The congress is held in two parts – a 3-day event from Thursday 10th May to Sunday 13th May 2018, in Gdańsk, Poland and a 2-day post-congress event from Monday 14th to Tuesday 15th May in Vilnius, Lithuania.
A different city hosts the congress each year and this year attendees will visit locations in the Tricity area of Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia before moving on to Vilnius. During the visits, they will experience local cultural institutions and attend the two-part symposium The Common Grounds: Learning from Contexts and Communities.
The congress gives attendees the chance to network with others doing work similar to their own, exchange ideas and knowledge and broaden their professional contact base in other countries and regions.
Friday’s proceedings are open to members only (new memberships can be obtained during the online registration process), while the remaining parts of the congress are open to everyone.
The IKT Congress will be held from Thursday 10th May to Sunday 13th May 2018, in Gdańsk, Poland. You can read more about the congress on the IKT website.
