Creative Lenses Forum

16.03.2017 |

‘Creative Lenses’, brings together 13 organisations from across Europe to explore the sustainability of arts and culture in the region and Trans Europe Halles will present the latest forum tomorrow and Friday in Lund, Sweden.

Trans Europe Halles is a group of European cultural centres who together make up one of the 13 partners in Creative Lenses - the four-year long project whose mission is to secure stronger foundations and resilience for Europe’s arts and cultural organisations.

Launched in 2015 and running through until 2019, Creative Lenses examines existing business models and explores the potential for innovation to deliver long term sustainability across the industry. Arts and culture are not just about inspiration and recreation for the masses. Most institutions and organisations must also consider their business models and continue to reinvent themselves to ensure long term viability.

Arts and cultural institutions must consider their futures from financial and artistic perspectives. Non-profit groups have their own challenges, as do some of the bigger players. But all have shared goals and artistic integrity should be at the heart of any good business model, to ensure it successfully delivers its model to its intended audience.

Launching on March 16th, the Creative Lenses forum in Lund will feature workshops, activities and speakers, covering a range of topics that will explore the challenges of organisational development and the importance of strong business strategies in the cultural field.

Attendees include managers, entrepreneurs, artists, business coaches, funders and researchers and everyone has the chance to meet with experienced cross cultural facilitators for whatever specific need their organisation may have.

Highlights of the forum include:

‘The Funders Take the Stage’. Panel discussion, 16th March at 3.15 pm. Funders representing all levels of governance, both local and global will give their insights on the future possibilities for arts and culture sector funding.

‘From Wreck to Wonder - Starting Up a Cultural Centre.’ This workshop will be facilitated by Sandy Fitzgerald from Olivearte Cultural Agency in the UK and provides guidance and advice with regard to the challenges that can arise in the first 3 years of establishing an independent cultural centre.

Creative Lenses Forum will be held from March 16th to 17th at Mejeriet and Stenkrossen in Lund, Sweden. You can read more about Creative Lenses and the Forum on the Creative Lenses website.
