European Cultural Heritage Summit

13.06.2018 |

Europe’s cultural agenda will take front of stage next week in Berlin as the European Cultural Heritage Summit takes place in the capital from the 18th to the 24th of June.

With the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH) being acknowledged across the continent, the summit is just one of many events focusing on cultural heritage in 2018.

Attendees from all over Europe will converge on Berlin this weekend in preparation for a week of discussions, presentations, and strategizing on the challenges of implementing the European Cultural Heritage Agenda. Some of the best minds on the scene will be involved, including influencers and high-level representatives from EU institutions, member states, and civil society organisations.

Special guest speakers at the summit include the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the President of Europa Nostra Plácido Domingo, the President of Deutsches Nationalkomitee für Denkmalschutz (DNK) Dr. Martina Münch and the President of Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, SPK) Prof. Dr. Hermann Parzinger.

The motto of this year’s summit is in alignment with the EYCH - “Sharing Heritage – Sharing Values”. The summit is one of the EYCH’s major events of 2018 and the programme is packed full of events and inspiring presentations for all who attend.

The European Cultural Heritage Summit will be held from Monday 18th June to Sunday 24th June 2018 at various venues in Berlin, Germany. The summit is organized by Europa Nostra, the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, SPK) and the German Cultural Heritage Committee (DNK).

The programme is available on the events section of the website. Please note that registration has closed for the summit, however there are still some events being held that do not require registration. These are detailed in the programme.
