European Festival of the First Novel

11.05.2014 |

Our partner project "European Festival of the First Novel" takes place from May 15 to 18 at the Literaturhaus Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel (Germany). It features new literature and authors from Europe.

Since 2003 new prose from several European countries forms the heart of the European Festival of the First Novel. Eleven novelists and their editors as well as other professionals of the literary world are gathering in Schleswig-Holstein/ northern Germany to discuss writing and publishing, to acquaint themselves with new novels, and maybe pave the way for translation.

Part of the programme is for example a moderated talk about the possibilities to market the novel. It takes place on Friday, May 16 (19:00) with Tom Bresemann from Lettrétage Berlin and Wolfgang Sandfuchs from the Literature House Schleswig Holstein.

In addition, the organizers invite the audience to walk along the literature parcours in the Old Botanical Garden to attend to the variety of the languages and novels.
