The International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art (IKT) holds their congress every year, choosing a different host city each year. The congress is held in two parts – a 3 day event from Thursday 10th May to Sunday 13th May 2018, in Gdańsk, Poland and a 2 day post-congress event from Monday 14th to Tuesday 15th May in Vilnius, Lithuania. Friday’s proceedings are open to members only (new memberships can be obtained during the online registration process), while the remaining parts of the congress are open to everyone
Over 500 curators are usually in attendance at the congress and this year will visit locations in the Tricity area of Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia before moving on to Vilnius. Attendees will visit various local cultural institutions and attend the two part symposium The Common Grounds: Learning from Contexts and Communities. The congress gives attendees the chance to network with others doing work similar to their own, exchange ideas and knowledge and broaden their professional contact base in other countries and regions.
The IKT Congress will be held from Thursday 10th May to Sunday 13th May 2018, in Gdańsk, Poland. Registrations for the congress and/or membership can be submitted here. Registrations are limited to 100 and close this Sunday 15th April. You can read more about the congress on the IKT website.
