The International Jazz Platform welcomes creative jazz musicians from across Europe to participate in its annual creative jazz workshop to be held in Łódź in Poland from Monday 16th to Thursday 19th July 2018. The platform has an international faculty made up of highly skilled and recognised musicians, who have established themselves in the international jazz scene and have exceptional technical and improvisational skills.
Each year the platform creates opportunities for students to experience something unique both personally and professionally, whilst refining their skills and perspectives on improvisation and jazz musicianship. This year, renowned British jazz pianist and composer Kit Downs will be part of the faculty, along with Norwegian avant-jazz bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, Norwegian drummer Thomas Strønen, and Swiss trombone player Samuel Blaser.
The 6th edition of the jazz platform workshop will be held once again at Wytwórnia over 4 days from Monday 16th to Thursday 19th July 2018 in Łódź, Poland. Applicants should complete the application form and it must be submitted via email to jazzplatform(via)wytwornia.pl, before the deadline of Thursday 28th June 2018. Successful applicants will have the costs of the workshop participation covered, but personal travel and accommodation costs are not included. Applicants should be musicians over the age of 18.
