The residency will take place between 1 March and 20 December 2021 for 4-9 weeks in Kaunas (Lithuania). The applicants have to be based in a Nordic-Baltic country other than Lithuania: Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Åland, Latvia and Estonia.
The applicants should have a new and original approach to displaying the attentiveness and sensitivity of Kaunas’s identity and culture as well as its environmental characteristics. For this task the Kaunas Photography Gallery provides basic materials and equipment.
Travel costs, free accommodation in an apartment or a guest house in Kaunas city centre, a per diem and a 425€ scholarship will be provided as well.
Accepted applicants are asked to participate in at least one informal public audio-visual presentation about their work and/or take part in some other kind of event during the residency. All information and the application form can be found here.
The Kaunas Photography Gallery offers international art residencies since 2012 and works on international projects like "Celebrating Europe".
