Music Festival ‘Rigas Ritmi’

In the 19th year of its existence Rigas Ritmi Festival will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Jazz in Europe.

In the 19thyear of its existence Rigas Ritmi Festival will celebrate the 100thanniversary of the arrival of Jazz in Europe. Starting July 2nd,the festival will bring jazz, improvisation and world music to the stages of Riga. To celebrate the anniversary Jazz artists Jon Cleary and Jamison Ross from New Orleans have been invited not only to perform but also to hold master classes.

Rigas Ritmi is attended by 17,000 visitors. More than 550 artists from around the world have graced the festival so far. The main hub of the festival will be the Riga Congress Hall. Among the highlights will be performances by the Freedoms Trio, a three-continent union of musicians, by Grammy-prize winner Jon Cleary, winner of the Thelonious Monk contest Jamison Ross and the winner of this year’s international young jazz artist contest ‘Riga Jazz Stage’ A Bu from China.

The festival will also feature free performances at the open-air venues ‘Egle’ and ‘Origo Summer Stage’ as well as at the jazz club ‘Trompete’. Rigas Ritmi runs from July2ndto July 6th. The festival invites you to Riga and enjoy summer Jazz in Estonia’s capital.
