The festival organized by the "Estonian Dance Agency" aims to create a greater awareness of dance among the general public and the media fostering the new generation of audience for dance.
In 2011, it takes place for the 17th year and is open to all dance groups of different styles and different levels.
The main criterion of participation is that the dances must be the children’s or instructors’ original creation. The dances are grouped under five age groups (ages 4-20) and six dance categories (show dance, street dance, variety dance, contemporary dance, children dance and Estonian theme dance).
"Culture includes not only culture and arts, but also the way of life and system of values. In this sense culture becomes the major power for intellectual renewal and human perfection." (European Council Report on European Cultural Policy)
