The 2017 conference is organised to encourage the exchange of ideas and to promote discussions around best practice in the fields of art and culture in the Nordic-Baltic region. Attendees will include managers and artistic directors of arts and cultural festivals of all kinds. Along with making new connections and exploring collaborations and opportunities for future projects, the conference will include some interesting avant garde performances from Nordic talents.
There will be a pre-launch performance, “A Thousand Tongues” at 7pm on Monday 20th in Helsingborg, then the conference will begin on Tuesday. Registration is open from 10.30 am in Helsingør and the welcome reception will be held at midday. The keynote speech on Tuesday will be delivered by Juliana Engberg, Programme Director of Aarhus 2017. The afternoon will allow for further networking and a panel session discussing festivals and tourism.
On Wednesday, proceedings will move to Helsingborg, with the first session starting at 9.30am. There will be a number of short presentations about funding possibilities in the Nordic region as well as presentations of wonderful success stories. The 5 winners of the NBFP 2017 call will present their collaborative arts projects. The afternoon will feature a 2nd panel session discussing festivals and community engagement. Nordic-Baltic Arts Festival Conference will be held on Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday 22nd of November at Dunkers Kulturhus, Helsingborg, Denmark and Kulturverftet (The Culture Yard), Helsingør, Sweden.
