Open Call for an online artist residency

The After Social Networks, a French research-creation association, is looking for digital artists to apply for Online Artist Residencies to work on a new project with the theme "Media Homes".

The open call is meant for digital artists whose work is all about social networksto apply for an artist residency until 15 October 2020. The selected artist will work on the project for two consecutive weeks between November and December 2020. The artist will turn the Instagram account @aftersocialnetworks into a curatorial platform by designing and producing original content for the account that shows how social media informs our perceptions, interactions and daily media practices. As compensation for the work the artist will get a grant of 300€.

After Social Networks [JJ2] hybridizes creation and research practices, in order to think about the status of user-generated content, as well as the media ecosystem in which they are embedded. It is composed of artists and researchers who are committed to design encounters between various disciplines, imaginaries and practices. The purpose of After Social Networks is to establish a participatory and freely accessible database for artistic works online by publishing texts, videos or interviews.
