The museum for modern art Ars Electronica and Art Collection Deutsche Telekom are offering a new art residency for artists from Eastern Europa or with a connection to Eastern Europe. The residency will be divided in two parts. In the first phase the selected artist will get scientific mentoring to elaborate a concept of the artistic research and to sharpen the artistic/scientific question behind the work, this will take 4 to 8 weeks. After that the artist is going to stay in Linz (Austria) at Ars Electronica for 3 to 6 weeks to produce the work for a presentation at the Ars Electronica Festival 2021.
The artist has a variety of art forms he can choose from but the theme will always be the same: the artwork should be questioning the technological development and the use of technological tools critically.
The selected artist will get 3000EUR as an artist fee, 10.000 EUR for the production costs and 2500EUR for travelling and accommodation.
Applications should be submitted before the deadline of 29 November 2020.
You can find more information about the residency and the application here.
The Art Collection Telekom was founded in 2010. It focuses on contemporary art from Eastern and South-eastern Europe and also looks to neighbouring countries such as Turkey or the Caucasus region.
