Open Call Women Artists in Central and Eastern Europe Conference

The organizers of the conference "Not Yet Written Stories. Women Artists In Central and Eastern Europe" are calling for papers about visual arts before 1989 in relation to women artists' experience and stories in Central and Eastern Europe. The conference will take place in September 2021 in Warsaw (Poland).

"Not Yet Written Stories. Women Artists In Central and Eastern Europe" is an international conference held in Warsaw (Poland) in the first week of September 2021. The conference is organized by a number of different international organizations: the Arton Foundation (Warsaw), Latvian Centre fir Contemporary Arts (Riga), SCCA-Ljubljana Centre for Contemporary Arts (Ljubljana) as well as the Office for Photography (Zagreb).

The organizers are calling for papers about visual arts before 1989 in relation to women artists' experience and stories in Central and Eastern Europe written by early career humanities scholars, curators and artists. For more information follow the link, the deadline for the applications is 15 January 2021. The selected papers will be published in the new issue of "Miejsce" , a magazine published by the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in an online and a printed version.

The organizers are covering the travel and accommodation costs and will provide fees for the authors.

The conference will take place at the Academy for Fine Arts in Warsaw and will be organized depending on the situation with Covid-19 as a hybrid format with possible online participation.
