LEAP is a leadership programme designed for entrepreneurship and systems change in the Baltic Sea region. Together, participants will address some of the world’s biggest social and ecological challenges and explore opportunities to build globally relevant solutions. Together, they will begin a journey to co-create a new ecosystem of change makers that serve both people and planet.
The LEAP programme is a joint initiative between the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the Swedish Institute (SI). It is carried out in collaboration with the non-profit organisation Dedicated Institute (DI). The initiative is based on the centre’s research on planetary boundaries, resilience thinking and transformations to sustainability and DI's entrepreneurial expertise and mindset. The leadership programme builds on a similar programme which the centre hosted in 2014 together with the Swedish Institute.
WHY_Our society is facing dramatic changes, not only are these challenges on a social level, science indicates that we are transgressing planetary boundaries that have kept civilization safe for the past 11,000 years. What lies ahead now is an opportunity to re-imagine the systems, institutions and economies that govern our world. This journey requires new maps, new mindsets and new tools.
WHAT_The programme will connect participants to new ways of thinking around agency and systemic change and build capacities to lead in an ever-evolving complex world. Participants will learn from some of the most impactful people and solutions in sustainability science, social leadership, self-development, public narrative, tech, entrepreneurship and impact investment.
WHO_The LEAP programme seeks future leaders and change makers who have the ambitions and skills to innovate at the system level: highly skilled developers, serial entrepreneurs, creative designers, intrapreneurs, who have new ideas or innovations that they have introduced or want to introduce. Also, government officials, financiers, researchers, who work for institutions that enables innovations to flourish.
PARTICIPANTS_need to be permanent residents or citizens of one of these countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Sweden or Ukraine. Candidates should be fluent in spoken and written English.
