"The small improvisation" – contemporary art from Poland

This German-Polish exhibition project (start: 11 June 2010) which is supported by ARS BALTICA is shown at Stadtgalerie Kiel (Germany).

The exhibition "The small improvisation – contemporary art from Poland" is curated by Dorothee Bienert (Berlin/ Germany) who also curated the "ARS BALTICA Triennial of Photographic Art". 

Lukasz Skapski, from the series: With "The small improvisation", Dorothee Bienert and the Stadtgalerie Kiel focus on a bilateral exhibition project which is entitled in the tradition of Adam Mickiewicz' famous "The great improvisation" (1832).

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held on Friday, 11 June. "The small improvisation" will be shown until the end of August 2010. It delivers insight into the vital art scene of Poland in our days. The exhibits shown in Kiel are characterized by humour and absurdity.

The exhibition is supported by ARS BALTICA, by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein and by the Consulate General of Poland in Hamburg.
