Focus on Russia :: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Conference, 22-25 March, St Petersburg

Federal Institute for the Professional Development in Culture INTERSTUDIO in the co-operation with the Theatre Union of the Russian Federation will for the 5th time in its history host a conference on the Cultural Policy of Russia: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.
The project is devoted to the memory of Anatoly Yufit (1925-1978) – a famous theatre researcher who in 1968 founded the program on the professional theatre management education.
The organisers invite experts, scholars, professionals and practitioners in arts and culture from Russia and abroad to participate in the discussions that intend to address the following issues:
- changes in the cultural policy of Russia and comparison of its current status in an international context;
- dynamics of Russia's federal legislative and executive bodies in dealing with cultural policies;
- issues of the regional cultural policy and changes in the Russian legislation and their influence on the cultural sphere.

Deadline for sending registrations is 26 February 2007.
Participants interested in contributing to the conference with presentation or speech are asked to send the abstract (up to 250 words) by 20 February 2007.
