FOCUS ON CHILDREN :: Nordic Children's and Youth Committee

Nordic Children's and Youth Committee awards grants for cooperation among organisations and groups and for youth projects.
The aim of the Nordic Children's and Youth Committee grants is to strengthen Nordic identity by supporting children's and youth's participation in activities regarding cultural, political, and social affairs in the North, and to enhance the possibility for children and youth to strengthen the Nordic profile in international relations.
In September 2006 The Nordic Council of Ministers decided, that CIRIUS will be in charge of the grant scheme from 2007 till the end of 2009.
There are two different types of grants:
1. PROJECT GRANT
Children and youth organisations or groups can apply for grants to hold seminars, training sessions, conferences, camps, publications, etc. Children and youth organisations from more than one country or autonomous area must participate. Participants in the project must be under the age of 25. Quarterly deadlines for application:
February 1, April 1, September 1, and November 1.
Who can apply: The Aaland Islands, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, The North Calotte, Northwest-Russia, Norway, and Sweden.

2. ORGANISATION GRANT
Children and youth organisations with members in at least three Nordic countries can apply for grants for planning and development of their Nordic cooperation. Grants can be applied for planning meetings, information materials, etc. Grants for larger events and projects must be applied for as project grants. Deadline for application:
October 1. every year.
Who can apply: Grants can be given to Nordic children and youth organisations having shared statutes, and members in at least three Nordic countries or autonomous regions: Denmark, Greenland, Finland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the Aaland Islands.
