fields of vision :: Call for participation at an intercultural art project

Already twice the artpa association has presented intercultural exibition- and exchangeprojects with artists of many different nations. It took place at the gallery ‘kunst und bauschlosserei’, in the German town of Leipzig.
This year the project is aimed to enhance the possibility of exchange between German and international artists and other people working in the cultural area, as well as between theorie and practice. Also the promotion of new ideas in science and art is an importent issue of this project.
Artists are called on to send in their works of art showing their interpretation of the theme 'field of vision - transcultural differences and similarities in perspectives and pictures' .
A special priority is specified further by the topic 'the body as a base of presentation with social, political, economical, institutional, aesthetical and cultural projection'.
How do our usual mental pictures shift in times of increasing globalisation? How is the new creation of perspectives working in the course of the 'Iconic Turn'? Why do our ways of sight somtimes terminate and other times stabilize?
These controversies of postmodernity, reflected in pictures of body, are the outlines of the art project 'field of vision'. It will take place between 20th of October and 24th of November 2007 in Leipzig, Germany.
