15th Anniversary of the the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre in Gdansk
(2007 12 13 15:15)
The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre in Gdansk was established in 1992. The Centre's activities focus on nearly all fields of art. It organises interdisciplinary projects such as scientific and literary seminars, conferences, debates, contemporary art exhibitions, theatre and dance performances, audiovisual presentations, festivals and concerts of classical, jazz, rock and folk music. The BSCC has also published a number of its own books.
The BSCC organises nearly 40 events a year, most of which include international co-operation. A great number of the projects is supported by Nordic and Baltic ministries and embassies and the European Union. The Centre keeps regular and lively contacts with many cultural institutions and "policy makers" in all countries situated around the Baltic Sea as well as with individual artists and researchers who are interested in creating new quality for the cultural exchange in the Baltic Sea region. The BSCC is also the seat of ARS BALTICA Secretariat.
