The first edition of the art festival consisting in the presentation of works of over 30 international artists in the former factory of industrial instruments.
However, Arte a Full Art for Good is much more than simply a carefully arranged exhibition. The theme emphasis is on the possible conflict between art and socialdeprivation. The question is raised whether contemporary art can address current social problems, which is reflected in the presented works..
With regards to the project’s venue, Argentinean artists and architects transform the hall of the Westwerk into the structural chaos of a villa miseria, a slum in an Argentinean metropolis.White cubes in the individual barracks serve as workshops for the artists as well as
presentation space of their works.
Among the participating artists are Columbian born Oswaldo Maciá, who will show his installation The Sound of Smell.
The exhibition will be accompanied by the series of lectures “Die Grenzen des Wir“ (The Boundaries of Us)
The lecture series, which will be presented during the festival, has been prepared in cooperation with the gallery Empraxis – Forum for Art and Philosophy.
