The Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013: the first call for proposals.

The Monitoring Committee for the new Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013 had its first meeting in Rostock on 14-15 February, attended by more than 30 decision makers from eleven countries. They launched 236 million Euros of European Union’s funding for transnational cooperation in the Baltic Sea region. The Monitoring Committee further decided about opening the first call for project applications on 25 February.
The application package will be available at this site. The call will be closed on 30 May. Interested applicants will be supported by the programme’s Joint Technical Secretariat located in Rostock and its branch office at Riga, Latvia. The seminars for those who will apply for the programme funds will be held on 2-4 April in Hamburg and
9-11 April in Riga. More information on registration will be available on eu.baltic.net.
Transnational projects with partners from at least three different countries can apply for the Programme, which supports the following four priorities: Fostering innovations, Internal and external accessibility, Baltic Sea as a common resource and Attractive and competitive cities and regions. Project partners can apply from eleven countries: Belarus, Estonia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sweden The partners will come mainly form the public sector (regional and local administrations, universities, NGO´s etc.).
