THE INTERNATIONAL BRASS BAND SUMMER COURSE IN HJØRRING 2008
(2008 03 19 22:57)
This summer, European brass musicians will have an opportunity to spend an inspiring week in Hjørring, Denmark, working and creating with some of Britain’s greatest experts in the field.
The International Brass Band Summer Course was once a regular event in Hjørring, and this year’s creative workshop is an attempt to bring the tradition back.
The course will last from June 30 to July 4 and is addressed to both aspiring and experienced players, willing to participate in inspiring rehearsals and learn from distinguished conductors (such as Garry Cutt and Geoffrey Brand) and instructors, who will offer their advice and guidance individually to interested participants.
During the week, musicians taking part in the course will be divided into two bands and several ensembles based on the level of accomplishment of each participant.
A day at the course will include practice in instrument groups as well as up to six hours of band rehearsals.
The course will take place at University College of Northern Jutland in Hjørring. The cost is €200 for room and board .
The deadline for applications is May 1, 2008.
