Five European countries entered into cooperation to organise a travelling festival devoted to film and environment. A sailing ship will stop at six different Baltic Sea ports (Rostock, Gdansk, Kaliningrad, Riga, Narva Joesuu, St. Petersburg) to show a four-day programme in each of them.
Thanks to the element of mobility true exchange is possible – people from different countries are brought together aboard the ship and different audiences in each respective country have an opportunity to participate in the event.
National borders separate the old and new EU member states but the Baltic Sea has always been the common denominator for these countries. Cooperation of all the project partners is the result of awareness of common European cultural identity and the diversity of cultures in Europe.
The project’s aim is to spark creative approaches to challenges faced within the common geographic, cultural and ecological space of the Baltic Sea and to encourage exchange between the fields of environmental policy and culture, especially filmmaking.
The Festival’s programme will offer open-air screenings, panel discussions, film contest, workshops on environmental policy topics, creative writing and photo.
