Impact: Living in the age of climate change - exhibiion :: Copenhagen, 2009
(2008 05 19 22:43)In December 2009 the world’s nations will meet at the UN Climate Change Convention in Copenhagen in Denmark. They are going to define a new global climate treaty. As the climate change is not just a political and economical issue but something affecting all people, much energy was put to create a new initiative IMPACT: Living in the age of climate change.
The project brings together art, technology, science, politics and climate with perspectives from the far North and South regions of the planet. Before the UN convention a series of culture programs starting with web-debates on www.impact09.com will be launched. The culmination will be a major international art exhibition.
Nordic Exhibition of the Year 2008-2010 focuses on the impact of creative experimentation as a vital source of climate solutions. It brings up issues such as diversity, efficacy, relatedness and intrinsic inter-dependence of the biophysical, social and electronic habitats. The exhibition is curated by Antoanetta Ivanova who is a multi-award winning international curator originally trained as a photojournalist.
The project was initiated by the Alexandra Institute from Denmark, TEKNE Network and Production from Denmark and Novamedia from Australia.
