Nordic Drama Forum is organised in within the Tampere Theatre Festival. The theme of this year’s festival is Nordic theatre and the Nordic drama prize will be announced. The aim of the Forum is to analyse the role of playwrights and dramaturges, look at information channels and raise questions related to international promotion and translation. It addresses trends in new Nordic drama and gives opportunity to develop new models and learn from best practices for the benefit of future exchange.
The Nordic Showcase & Drama Forum seminar programme will consist of introductions to Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic and Faroese new dramatic writing with some glimpses also at how new writing is developed in the Baltic countries and elsewhere. The programme also offers staged readings, seminars, panels and discussions on topics related to Nordic theatre.
The Forum is organised by the Nordic Theatre Union in co-operation with Nordic Council of Ministers, Nordic Culture Point, Tampere Theatre Festival, the Finnish Theatre Information Centre and Riksteatern (Sweden).
