Nordisk Film and TV Fond announced on 1 September 2008 the five Nordic films nominated to the Nordic Council Film Prize 2008.
The nominated films are:
From Denmark: "The Early Years - Erik Nietzsche Part 1", directed by Jacob Thuesen, written by Lars von Trier and produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Marie Gade (Zentropa).
>From Finland: "The Home of the Dark Butterflies", directed by Dome Karukoski, written by Marko Leino (based on a novel by Leena Lander) and produced by Markus Selin (Solar Films).
>From Iceland: "White Night Wedding", directed by Baltasar Kormákur, written by Baltasar Kormákur and Ólafur Egill Egilsson and produced by Agnes Johansen and Baltasar Kormákur (Blueeyes Productions).
>From Norway: "The Man who Loved Yngve", directed by Stian Kristiansen, written by Tore Renberg (based on his own novel) and produced by Yngve Sæther (Motlys).
>From Sweden: "You, The Living", directed and written by Roy Andersson and produced by Pernilla Sandström (Studio 24).
The winner is to be announced on October 15, 2008.
