CAC summer exhibitions in Vilnius, 06.06 – 17.08.2008
(2008 06 10 00:05)The Contemporary Art Centre invites to three interesting exhibitions dedicated to sound art:
1. ars viva 07/08 – Sound
This year the exhibition features work by artists working with sound - Florian Hecker, Nico Dockx Astrid Nippoldt and Marcellvs L. Their works range from sound art to installation and video where sound plays a crucial role. The ars viva prize is awarded by the Cultural Committee of German Business within the Federation of German Industries (BDI).

2. Vladimir Tarasov – Inside Out
Vladimir Tarasov is a famous free jazz musician. Since the 1990s he has been creating installations dominated by sound. Inside Out is an inspiration from Tarasov’s trip to India. Tarasov’s installation provides the viewer a unique possibility not only to hear the music but also see it from the inside, track the emergence of the sound, and recognise its physical and spatial dimensionality.

3. Ignas Krunglevicius and Snorre Hvamen – Listen
Listen consists of several site-specific audio installations by Oslo based artists Ignas Krunglevičius (LT) and Snorre Hvamen (NO). The title of the project is inspired by the characteristic use of the phrase “listen” by Sir David Attenborough who has been creating documentaries on nature for over 50 years.
