They are all brought together to the Centre of Knowledge (Kunskapscentret) located next to the home of Astrid Lindgren's childhood.
Seven contemporary artists have been asked to create works of art based on their vision of Pippi and their opinions on how important nowadays Pippi is to the readers all over the world.
The invited artists are as follows: Marianne Lindberg De Geer, Magnus Lönn, Nilsmagnus Sköld, Helle Kvamme, Sofia Sundberg, Anna Wessman and Ann Hingström.
The visitors of the exhibition will also have a chance to see works by original illustrators of Pippi from various countries. It's an amazing experience to see how Pippi's imaged has changed and evaluated from 1945 till now in different parts of the world. There is, for example, the modern and naughty Pippi by Lauren Child, famous illustrator form the UK or the colourful Pippi by Katrin Engelking from Germany.
