Conclusions after the 33rd ARS BALTICA Organising Committee Meeting
(2006 12 22 11:19)The meeting took place in Gdansk on 27-28 November. The Committee Members focused on the evaluation on the situation in which ARS BALTICA is and debated on the ways how to modernize the network’s actions. They also discussed the future of the Baltic cultural co-operation in general, with the special emphasis of activating the links with Russia. It was agreed that on the basis of this debate as well as ongoing national consultations a discussion paper will be prepared that will be presented to the Ministers of Culture before their summit in Riga in 2008.
Another important matter were elections of the Secretariat and a new chairman. The Committee Members expressed their satisfaction with the work of the current Secretariat, based in the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre and unanimously voted for extending its tenure for the years 2007-2009. As for the change of the chairmanship. Mr Krzysztof Olendzki, the Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage was elected the new ARS BALTICA Chairman for the year 2007.
On behalf of the Committee, Alf Modvar, thanked Mr Rolandas Kvietkauskas for his hard and effective work as ARS BALTICA Chairman. Mr Kvietkauskas reciprocated these expression of gratitude by thanking the Committee for support and fruitful co-operation over the period of his tenure.
Last but not least, the following projects were granted ARS BALTICA logo or had the logo extended for their new editions.

The next meeting ARS BALTICA Organising Committee Meeting will be hosted by Denmark in May 2007.
