Oulu International Children's Film Festival (19-25. 11 2007)

The Oulu International Film Festival is organised annually by the Oulu Film Centre based in Northern Finland. During the festival week, you can see dozens of feature films for children, consisting of fiction, documentaries and animation.
Thirteen films had been selected for the competition this year. The awards to be presented are the following: Kaleva's Starboy Award (given by the children’s jury), CIFEJ Prize, and Little Bear Prize.
This year’s festival will feature a special programme of films based on the novels of the famous Swedish storyteller Astrid Lindgren. The programme celebrates the centenary of the author’s birth. In the films to be screened it will be possible to see famous characters created by Lindgren, among them Pippi Longstocking and Emil.
Other special programmes include: Kaleidoscope- a series of films from all around the world;
Growing Pains - a series of films about the sweet agony of being young and Finnish Survey -
new Finnish films for children and young people.
