ARS BALTICA Chairman for 2008 has been elected

Mr Gert Haack, head of section in the State Chancellery of the Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein, was unanimously elected to be ARS BALTICA Chairman in the year 2008.
According to the decision made at the 35th ARS BALTICA Organising Committee Meeting in Salzau (5-6 Nov. 2007), the Committee Members participated in the election of the ARS BALTICA Chairman for the year 2008 via the Internet. The election was prepared and coordinated by the ARS BALTICA Secretariat. The voting took place between 11 and 14 December 2007.
Each country represented in ARS BALTICA Organising Committee was entitled to one vote. The representatives of the following countries took part in the election : Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden. Out of nine votes submitted eight supported Mr. Gert Haack for the position of ARS BALTICA Chairman in the year 2008. One country (Germany) abstained from voting.
Mr Haack has been an active member of ARS BALTICA Organising Committee since 2004. From 1st January 2008 he took over the ARS BALTICA chairmanship from Mr Krzysztof Olendzki, the Undersecretary of State in the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
