Winners of Chopin Piano Competition, 27 January - 3 February 2008, Narva, Estonia

Anastasia Sokolova from Russia and Kristoffer Mikael Gylling from Finland are the winners of the 1st prize of the 7th international Competition of Young Pianists Devoted the Work of F. Chopin.

 

For the7th time young pianists and their teachers from the Baltic Sea Region and other countries  gathered  in Narva to perform a great celebration of Chopin’s music. The organisers stress that even though the name of the event refers to competition, they understand it more like a musical festivity. Encounters, excursions, master classes for the music teachers accompanying young musicians, musical evenings and meetings with local Narva Music School students create a special atmosphere around the event.

The international jury judged participants in 3 age groups: up to 12 years old, between 13-15 years old and from 16 to 18 years old.
