Kaliningrad Art Gallery
Opening
Interactive multimedia project and installation within the framework of the parallel program of the IX Biennale of Graphic Art of the Baltic Sea Countries «Kaliningrad-Königsberg 2008».
Installation «Game room» displays a representative selection of the newest projects, which have been developed within the last year in the field of computer games – one of the most dynamically developing media in the world. The exhibition will present the most ambitious and radical developments of the three largest companies of the game industry – Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo – in the form of sound installations and spatial abstractions.
The installation gives an idea of what kind of game consoles exist today, what their specific features and philosophy are. First of all the interactive projects are distinguished by a unique graphic interface, where the sense of the game comes to the process similar to the creation of the work of art – one’s own graphic image or sound landscape, when a player, in fact, designs a personal virtual space.
Organizer: Kaliningrad Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts
Curators: Danil Akimov (KB NCCA), Oleg Stavitsky (magazine «Igromania», Moscow)
During the opening sound performance of the Pocket Band (Danil Akimov, Andrey Gladkov).
