Winners of Fredrikstad Animation Festival

Fredrikstad Animation Festival is the oldest animation festival in the Nordic and Baltic countries, with roots back to Oslo Animation Festival which was formed in 1994. Since then the festival has been an important venue for Nordic and Baltic animators.
This year's edition of the Fredrikstad Animation Festival 2008 has just come to an end. The heart and soul of the festival is the Nordic-Baltic Competition and the Golden Gunnar Award. The Norwegian Animation Forum honored the Danish experimental animator Lejf Marcussen with a Lifetime Achievement Award and the Estonian film Inherent Obligations by Rao Heidmets was awarded the festivals Grand Prix. Fredrikstad Animation Festival also nominate this film to Cartoon d´Or 2009. The international jury at the festival was Linda Fagerli Sæthren (Norway), Peter Hausner (Denmark) and Amid Amidi (USA).
