Awards of the Oulu International Film Festival :: 17-23 November 2008.

This year's Festival featured half a dozen Scandinavian films in the competition. Special programme "Growing Pains" again presented sweet and bitter stories about the agony of being young. "Kaleidoscope" consisted of colourful and exotic films from all over the world.
Since 1992 a children's jury has awarded the Kaleva prize of 3000 euros to the director of the best film in competition at the Oulu International Children's Film Festival.
Statement of the Jury
"It was very difficult to choose the winner. The Jury wasn't completely unanimous in its decision, so we would like to tell you our top 5 movies: Fifth was Stormheart, fourth was Niko & the Way to the Stars, third was The seven of Daran and second was Christmas story.
The winning movie was exciting and there were cute animals, great actors, good music and great action in it. The winner is Arne Lindtner Naess with his movie SOS - Summer of suspense."
