The 18th International Festival of Young Musicians “Kaunas 2009”
(2009 02 17 11:19)The Festival will take place on 14-19 April 2009. It will become a venue for young performers, their teachers, famous professors, music lovers and everybody who fosters human values and feels concerned about the education and aesthetic training of the young generation of performers.
Launched in 1990 on the initiative of Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society Kaunas Department, the International Festival of Young Musicians in Kaunas will take place for the 18th time already. It is open to young pianists, brass, woodwind and string players who have become winners of national and international contests or have extensive experience of public performance. Only young musicians under 16 are accepted in the Festival.
The programme of the Festival comprises of six to seven concerts. As every year, Master Classes will be organized parallely to the Festival. Some of the world's finest performers and teachers will share their knowledge and experience with selected young artists.
Since its first edition, the International Festival of Young Musicians has welcomed to Kaunas over 370 brilliant young talent as well as famous teachers from 34 countries worldwide: Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belarus, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Chile Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Sweden, Ukraine, United States of America.
