THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF YOUNG MUSICIANS
Between 18th and 23rd April 2006 venues at the Kaunas Centre of Culture, Kaunas Artists House, Kaunas J. Naujalis Music School will be filled with the freshness and energy of young, talented musicians and the enthusiasm of music lovers who are invited to participate in the event - Lithuanian city of Kaunas for the 15th time will host the Festival of Young Musicians. Launched in 1990 from the initiative of Kaunas Philharmonic Society, the event differs from many similar festivals as it’s open for pianists, string and wind players under the age of 16 years only.

'Sea Symphony 2005', 15 - 27 November, Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
The Music Academy Lübeck in cooperation with musicians from the Association of Baltic Academies of Music (ABAM) will perform the “Sea Symphony” by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The project continues the last year’s performance of the “War Requiem” (shown in Lübeck and Neuengamme) and is linked to the East - widening of the European Union. Apart from the two concerts in Lübeck some more are planned to take place in Gdańsk as a part of the German – Polish Year 2005/2006.

1st International Male Choir Festival in St. Petersburg
24.5 - 11.6.2004 Festival of Friends is built on a group of top quality male choirs from the Nordic Baltic region, representing the top layer male choirs nation- and region wide in their areas. These choirs have been cooperating with each other in different combinations during the last decades. The idea of a total get-together that got the name, Festival of Friends (FoF), was born after the Mariehamns-Kvartetten, Ĺland, was visiting Karlakórinn Fostbraedur in Reykjavik October 2001.

Benjamin Britten's
in Lübeck Dom, 6 June 2004. Three hundred young musicians from seven different Baltic Sea countries perform Benjamin Britten’s “War Requiem” under the slogan “working together for peace”. The performances are to take place at two different locations, each of these of enormous historical importance. The performance on June the 5th is to take place at the “Klinkerwerk” at Neuengamme, a former Nazi concentration camp. On June the 6th the performance is to take place in Lübeck Cathedral. Present at this event will be Heide Simonis, one of the project’s patrons and Minister President of Schleswig Holstein. Renowned author Günter Grass is another of the patrons.

The International Festival of Young Musicians KAUNAS 2004
The International Festival of Young Musicians KAUNAS 2005 has been organized already for the 14th time. It was launched in 1990 on the initiative of Kaunas Philharmonic Society. The Festival is distinct from other festivals of the kind because it is open to young musicians who have become winners of national and international contests or have extensive experience of public performance. Of special importance is the fact that only young musicians under the age of 16 are accepted in the Festival.
